Becoming energetically in line with what you desire and how to deal with the energy of lack

This is where I am going to introduce the concept of energy and vibration, because everything in the world is energy, some is simply denser than others, which is what allows us to see it and touch it.

I know this might be a big jump for some of you and it’s certainly unfamiliar territory if you’ve never explored this concept before. Stick with me, because even beginning to understand and accept parts of this will have a huge impact on your life. Your gut reaction may be to switch off and this is fear driving you, because if you allow yourself to be open to this concept, you finally have to accept that you’ve created your life and for some this is a tough pill to swallow. Don’t judge yourself on the past, just be open to a new future. 

Let’s start with something easy and something that we all deal with several times a day, thoughts and emotions. When you’re focused on, or experiencing thoughts and emotions you are emitting a vibrational frequency and only things that vibrate on the same frequency will be able to find their way to you. Like attracts like. Think of two magnets that are draw together by a force that we can’t see.

So let’s look at high vibrational and low vibrational thoughts and emotions. 

Emotions and thoughts that are focused on love, passion, kindness, joy, abundance have a high vibrational frequency. The health, wealth and happiness that you desire can be found here. When you live your life from a place of love, joy and abundance, the things you most desire will easily be able to find their way to you. You are radiating a certain energy and like energy is drawn to you. 

Emotions and thoughts that come from a place of lack, not enough, fear, anger, envy, revenge and hatred, have a low vibrational frequency. Poor health, never ending debt and financial struggles and feeling unhappy, can all be found on this frequency. So when you choose to be negative, play the victim and look for the worst in life and people, then what you will get is more poor health, more debt and struggle and the feeling that life is hard. This is because the things you crave the most, simply cannot find you. You’re aren’t emitting an energy that they are attracted to or that is on the same frequency as love and abundance. Remember – like attracts like!

Let me use another example, in case this is the first time you have ever considered this. 

Imagine that the frequency (like a radio) of money, health and happiness is on frequency 10. If all you think about in life is lack, i.e. lack of money, time, energy, opportunities, love etc, you will never see the money, health and happiness because the energetic frequency of lack is on frequency 5. Can you see that they just don’t match? You are tuned into frequency 5 and therefore can’t receive anything on frequency 10. So if your life does not have all the things you want, then chances are you’re emitting a vibration that does not match the energetic vibration of what you desire. 

So let’s take some time to explore two very common feelings when it comes to money – a sense of lack and not enough. 

I know there have been times when you’ve worked on your ‘money and abundance’ blocks like someone possessed and yet still you’re struggling to bring in or keep money. You’ve worked on yourself like a crazy person, you’ve forgiven everyone you can think of, you’re doing your gratitude journal everyday and things are still not going in the right direction.

You’re exhausted, confused and starting to feel a little pissed off with life! What more does it want from you and what else do you need to do. 

I know how this feels and I can tell you now from personal experience and from working with hundreds of clients – the most likely reason for this, is because your dominant energetic vibration is one of lack! 

When this first came to light for me, I was both grateful for the insight and utterly annoyed at how I had been sabotaging my own success. I was meant to help people with this, and yet I couldn’t see what was right under my own nose when it came to breaking through to that next income level. I was finally setting boundaries in my business, I was charging what I was worth, I was asking for and allowing myself to receive help, but things were still not growing as quickly as I wanted them to. It made no sense and it was driving me nuts. 

I then had this light bulb moment, after saying yet again ‘I didn’t get enough sleep last night and now I don’t have the energy or enthusiasm for the day ahead’. Something clicked and I wondered where else this sense of lack was playing out in my life. So I got curious and paid attention to my thoughts for a few days and boy was I in for a rude awakening. I was having a total lack party in my mind from the minute I woke up, to the minute I went to bed and it was not connected with money at all. All the gratitude, journaling and inner work in the world wasn’t going to save me from that pity party. 

So let me share some common words and phrases that you’re likely to be using or thinking, if you’re in a place of lack. Make sure you pay attention to all areas of your life, because if you’re like me, the majority of those ‘lack’ emotions, may have nothing to do with money at all, which is why it can be so confusing. The first step is awareness:  

  • I can’t – do, be, or have.Think about your thoughts or sentences that involve the words ‘I can’t’. These are all connected to limiting beliefs about yourself and what you think is possible for you and your life
  • I’m not getting enough– this could be sleep, water, exercise, good nutritious food, attention from my partner, sex, support from my family and friends, downtime to relax
  • There isn’t enough– fun or laughter in my life, time to do everything, space in this house
  • I don’t have enough– energy or motivation for today, choice when it comes to food, enough clothes in my wardrobe, friends that I enjoy spending time with, clients to bring in the income I want
  • It’s not enough– I’ve not lost enough weight, I’ve not received enough recognition, this job is not enough to fulfil me, this relationship is not enough for me

Over time, all of these things will make you feel angry, confused, resentful, envious of others who seem to have it easy, or who seem to have figured it out.

So reflecting on the above, where are these things impacting you? The insights from this might come over time as you notice your thoughts and conversations: 

  • Where are you saying I can’t be, do or have?
  • Where are you not getting enough?
  • Where is there not enough?
  • Where do you not have enough?

Now that you have this awareness, we need to break this vibration of lack. It’s the only way to bring in more abundance and for you to enjoy life again. Look at the following and try the things that resonate for you: 

  • Notice your thoughts and words and then choose to reframe things. For example, I can’t talk to all these people, they might laugh at me.  Swap this to, I’m so excited to share my story or message with these people and it’s going to be amazing to see how they transform their own lives
  • Meditateand allow yourself to connect with who you really are and what you’re capable of. Remember, the only limits you place on your life, are the self imposed ones
  • Use EFT/Tappingto tap out the feeling of lack. You can get really specific on the areas that trigger you the most. For example, mums juggling children and a business, usually have a big block around their lack of time and energy. For the main breadwinner in a family it could be a sense of not receiving enough support and appreciation for what they do. Watch the EFT/Tapping video below. Pay attention to feelings, thoughts, memories and physical sensations that come up. Keep your journal/diary handy.
  • Try energy healingto clear any old negative energy, from habits, beliefs and memories of the past that you’re still holding onto. The modality doesn’t matter, just try whatever resonates for you and ensure you trust the person you are working with
  • Stop focusing on what you’re not getting from people.You cannot control their behaviour, so focus on you and who you want to be. It will feel so freeing. Then you can make decisions about whether you still want them in your life. If this isn’t possible, you can begin to assert loving boundaries
  • Put in place some practical solutions.For me, sleep was a big one, so now I ensure I get 8 hours no matter what and this means that when I wake up, that first thought of lack is no longer there. Do this for every area of your life where lack, not enough and the thoughts of what you’re not getting come up. You’ll have to take responsibility for yourself here, because no one else can make you eat, sleep, rest etc if that’s what you need
  • Journalon everything that you’re grateful for in your life – raising your energetic vibration, will bring more good stuff to you and help you to enjoy life more in the process
