What do you want from this program?

Being clear on what you want from this program is essential. It will help you stay focused, especially when things get tough and you’re feeling frustrated. It can very easy to give up when you don’t think you’re making progress quickly enough. Having a strong vision and keeping your eye on the prize, will be massively motivating for you.

Think about all the things you would like to be doing and achieving after working through all of the resources and material – these are your goals!

Start by considering the tangible resultsyou’re looking for:

  • Maybe you want to achieve consistent 5k months, or perhaps it’s 10 or 15k months…. be really clear on the exact amount of money you want and why this is significant for you. When you’re clear on what the money will do for you and the feeling it evokes, it’s easier to stay on track and take action. Money is more than just a number that drops into your bank account, it’s what it does for you, for example; the ability to live a stress free life, to save for your retirement, to invest in yourself or your business, to ensure you have money for your kids, to enjoy treats and luxuries etc

So many people pluck numbers out of the sky when I ask them what they want to earn. Some follow the noise on social media about becoming a six or seven figure earner and others say that 1-2k a month would be nice! All of this is without even really knowing what they need each month to cover their commitments and then their dream life.

With this in mind, now is the perfect time to be listing all of your monthly expenses so you know exactly what you need to cover your costs. It’s time to stop plucking a figure out of the sky because it sounds good, or because you don’t want to seem too greedy. Knowing your numbers is crucial as it gives perspective for what you’re aiming for. This can be quite an eye opener if you’ve ignored your numbers in the past.

For me when I’m thinking about achieving a new monthly income level, I list all my expenses, so I know my base line and then I list all the things I would love to have in my life, in addition to this. Summer holidays in the sun, new car, retirement savings, house in the country, ability to give money to charities I believe in etc etc. I then work out what I need and this becomes my new monthly goal.

Not only do I have a new income figure to work towards, I know WHY I want it.

Now reflect on the intangible resultsyou would like to experience. I want you to think about how you would love to feel. Normally this will be the opposite of how you feel most of the time:

  • I want to be able to trust money, to know it will be there for me when I need it and won’t abandon me
  • I want to feel safe and secure and not worry about being unable to pay my bills and buy food for my family
  • I want to release the shame I feel at not earning what I’m capable of and not being where I thought I would be in life
  • I want to feel confident that money is coming and my life will change
  • I want to be proud of what I’m earning and celebrate my progress
  • I want to release the constant feeling of lack and of not having enough
  • I want to let go of the fear that someone might take my money

When things get tough and you have to push yourself out of your comfort zone with this inner work or taking external action, you can connect with your WHY and it will give you the confidence, courage and conviction that you need. When we’re reaching for a new goal most of us will feel resistance. We’ll procrastinate, self sabotage and create drama’s in our life that demand our attention, because we’re scared to do the work that really matters. This stops now!

Please remember, that some people will achieve their goals much quicker than you and no doubt this will trigger an emotional response. I’ve seen people filled with envy, resentment and anger at the unfairness of it all, despair and fear that things will never change and then self doubt as they think there must be something wrong with them.

Do not judge yourself, or get disheartened, we’re all on our own path and as long as you do the work and you allow yourself to receive, things will change! It’s not a race, so key your energy and focus on you and no one else.

There is also no such thing as ‘over night success’. Behind every overnight success is months and years of work, action taking, failure, success and commitment to themselves and the path they are walking. Use their success as a demonstration that it’s possible, not as a way to beat yourself up!
